Privacy Policy

Effective October 7, 2026

c0depad is published by Wataru Watanabe (w22 digital lab). This policy distinguishes the Mac app from this website, external purchases, and optional support. Contact: hello@w22.dev.

The app is local; the website is not data-free. “Data Not Collected” describes the Mac App Store app itself, not website hosting, website analytics, checkout providers, email, or feedback forms. The Mac App Store edition is not currently available.

1. Local app data

Editing, formatting, search, and syntax highlighting run locally. The app does not upload your code, scratch text, or opened files to us and does not require a c0depad account. It has no app analytics, advertising, or developer-operated content-collection backend.

Scratch text, preferences, and window state are stored locally on your Mac for restoration. The app reads and writes files you choose to open or save, including files opened through macOS file panels or drag and drop. We cannot remotely inspect these local contents or settings.

Clear unwanted scratch text in the app and manage saved files in Finder. Removing the app may leave local settings or scratch data behind; contact support for help removing them. macOS backups, device-management software, and any file-sync service you choose can retain their own copies. Local storage is not a promise of encryption or a substitute for backups.

2. Updates: direct download versus Mac App Store

Direct-download edition: the built-in updater makes network requests to GitHub-hosted release metadata and download services to check for and install signed updates. These requests expose ordinary connection information such as your IP address, requested resource, and request time to the hosting service. Update checks do not send your scratch text or opened files. See GitHub’s privacy statement.

Mac App Store edition: there is no direct-download updater, login, subscription, or in-app purchase flow. If this edition becomes available, Apple will handle purchases, distribution, and updates under Apple’s privacy policy. Apple’s own services and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are separate from app-operated data collection.

3. Website hosting and technical requests

This website is hosted on Vercel. Visiting any page sends connection and request information to the host, which may process or log your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser or user-agent information, and related technical metadata to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse. This is separate from the local app. See Vercel’s privacy notice.

The site has no c0depad account, payment form, code-upload form, or embedded checkout. Fonts and product images are served as site assets. Links to checkout, social platforms, and other external services take you to those services, whose own policies apply.

4. Website analytics and browser storage

The Next.js website includes Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate visits and improve the site. Its default page-view data can include page URLs, referrers, filtered query parameters, timestamps, approximate location, and browser, operating-system, and device information. No custom analytics events are configured in this website.

Vercel describes Web Analytics as cookie-free, using a request-derived hash rather than a persistent cross-site identifier, and discarding the visitor-session identifier after 24 hours. That is not a promise that all hosting logs or aggregate statistics are deleted after 24 hours. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation. Do not put private information in website URLs or query parameters.

The homepage saves your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s localStorage under theme. This preference stays in that browser; you can remove it by clearing this site’s browser storage. No advertising cookies or advertising pixels are configured in the site source. These static privacy, terms, and support pages do not include the website analytics script.

5. External purchases

Direct-download purchases take place on Gumroad, not on this site or inside the editor. Gumroad and its payment providers handle payment and purchase information under Gumroad’s privacy policy. We do not collect payment-card details through this site or the app. Gumroad may make buyer contact and order information available to the publisher for fulfillment, purchase support, and transaction records.

Any future Mac App Store purchase would be handled by Apple under its own policies. For purchase and refund information, see our terms.

6. Optional email and feedback

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. If you open the app’s external feedback form, Tally receives the information you submit and makes the response available to us. See Tally’s privacy policy. These services also process their own technical metadata.

Support information is used to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain relevant support or transaction records. Send only what is needed; remove private code, passwords, payment-card numbers, access tokens, and personal data from screenshots or logs. Email and form submissions are not covered by the app’s “Data Not Collected” description.

7. Service providers, retention, and choices

Hosting, analytics, payment, feedback, and email services process information needed for their respective functions and may process it in countries other than your own. Their retention periods and safeguards depend on the service and its configuration; this page does not promise a fixed deletion period for their logs, backups, or transaction records.

Support correspondence and purchase records are kept as needed to respond to requests, maintain relevant records, and meet applicable legal obligations. We may disclose relevant records when required by law. We do not sell your scratch text or use it for advertising; the app does not send that text to us.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of support information you have sent us at hello@w22.dev. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location, and some records may need to be retained by law. For information held independently by Apple, Gumroad, or another provider, contact that provider. If applicable, you may also raise a concern with your local privacy authority. We cannot delete local files on your Mac or copies held in your own backups.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this page and its effective date when these practices change. Questions about privacy or support: hello@w22.dev.
